Services – for mātua taiohi (teen parents)

Our role is to help you navigate the challenges of parenting with confidence, and with the security and protection of a whānau. We also celebrate and congratulate you and your whānau as you bring this new life into the world!

We ensure your voice is heard and honoured by working with you and listening intently to your story and your needs. At E Tipu E Rea Whānau Services, our first priority is your wellbeing and the wellbeing of your unborn or newborn baby – pēpi.

You already face the challenges of a young person discovering themselves and their place in the world – with the challenges of parenting on top of that!

E Tipu E Rea Whānau Services can assist you with:

We support teen mothers and fathers to create a positive, supportive whānau around their baby, whatever that might look like for them.

We provide workshops, resources, and programmes to help new parents develop a toolkit of parenting skills.

E Tipu E Rea provides dedicated support for young dads, with our own team Dad offering advice, information, and creating space for new dads to talk about their experiences.

Part of our kaupapa of enabling young parents to thrive is supporting you to further your education, connecting young parents to the right resources and pathways.

Our experienced kaimahi provide advice and advocacy for matua taiohi facing housing issues. We can offer you the security and peace of mind that you are protected and represented by people who care.

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, we demonstrate the importance of whanaungatanga and the supportive connections that help young parents and their babies thrive.
